What: Come Out Laughing: Jason Dudey, Ian Harvie, Dana Goldberg and Belinda Carroll

When: Thursday, March 28 at 7:30 pm, after show meet and greet with artists

Where: The Bobwhite Theatre, 6423 SE Foster

Who: Produced by Kitty Moshpit Productions, contact: Renee LaChance 503-320-1242

How much: Tickets available at brownpapertickets.com, $20 advance, $25 at the door

Come Out Laughing was started by Jason Dudey in 2008 after he decided to launch a gay, gay-friendly, who-cares-who-you-are-or-who’s-in-your-bed, comedy show in Southern California. Because the regular monthly show in Long Beach at the world famous Laugh Factory has gained so much success and national acclaim, three of the regular headlining comedians decided to join forces to launch a national tour that will bring the country a show they have never seen before.

Jason Dudey, Dana Goldberg, and Ian Harvie are comedic powerhouses. They represent some of the best gay, lesbian and transgendered comics on the circuit today. These three comedians have headlined clubs, theaters, festivals, Universities and colleges all over the country and abroad. They have been seen on LOGO, Comics Unleashed, and Wisecrack. Each comic brings his or her own style to the stage, but the cohesion and brilliance of the show plays off of each comedian’s strength and delivers an edu-taining slant on the LGBT community that will open your minds and your hearts and leave your sides hurting from laughter. Audience members gay and straight alike are raving about Come Out Laughing.

Tickets are $20 advance, $25 day of the show. Tickets at brownpapertickets.com. At the Bobwhite Theatre, 6423 SE Foster. Produced by Kitty Moshpit Productions

Kittyoke is Kitty Moshpit’s version of karaoke. KJ Lauren will be running the karaoke to maximize frivolity and stunning performances. It is the night of the Grammy’s so sing past Grammy winners or old standbys. Costumes, props, performance art encouraged. It is on the big stage so you can give it your all.

Dan Kois writes in The New York Times, “Portland isn’t just the capital of karaoke…It’s a city devoted to chasing that feeling — the feeling of doing something you love, just for a moment, and being recognized for it, no matter how obscure or unnecessary or ludicrous it might seem to the straight world. It is the capital of taking frivolity seriously….” That sums up our mission for Kittyoke. Join us for a night of frivolity and seriously fun performances.

This is not your father’s Super Bowl party.

Super Bowl 2013: Celebrating Men in Tights is for those who don’t take the Super Bowl too seriously and revel in Portlandia phenomenon. Kitty Moshpit Productions puts its own Puddletown spin on the Super Bowl by hiring local comic Belinda Carroll to emcee the party and offer color commentary throughout the game, commercials and half-time show. Belinda will put her game face on! The game will be projected on the wall of the theatre. Many surprises throughout the game. (That means we haven’t got it all figured out yet so it will be a surprise to us as well.) It will be an interactive event. The crowd will dictate the tone of the festivities. Kids are welcome.
Pizza, snacks and no host bar.
Tickets are $5 advance, $8 day of the show. Show up at the door in costume and pay just $5. Advance Tickets at brownpapertickets.com. Produced by Kitty Moshpit Productions. At the Historic Bobwhite Theatre, 6423 SE Foster, Portland, Oregon. Info at www.facebook.com/kittymoshpit

Melao de Cuba is an eight person group of talented Portland Musicians who come together to share the beauty and exuberance of traditional Cuban music. Salsa music is exemplary of all things Cuban, in the sense it is warm, sensual and easygoing. Use the conga, horns and cowbell rhythms to take your hips for a journey. Melao is the Spanish word for molasses. Just as molasses is transformed into rum, one of the oldest spirits of the world, Melao de Cuba transforms elements of Afro-Cuban and Spanish music into vibrant, danceable music that lifts your spirit and brings joy to your heart.
